> Powers

To monitor works for the preparation of the national and regional accounts produced by Statistics Portugal or by other entities upon agreement with Statistics Portugal, namely presenting methodological recommendation projects relating to the process of preparation of national and regional accounts, as well as proposals for the improvement of the statistical sources used in the above accounts;
To issue opinions on the methodologies of (quarterly and annual) national accounts, as well as on estimates to be submitted to the GNP Committee, produced by Statistics Portugal or by other entities upon agreement with Statistics Portugal;;
To issue opinions on the methodologies of regional accounts produced by Statistics Portugal or by other entities upon agreement with Statistics Portugal;
To issue opinions on the methodologies of satellite accounts produced by Statistics Portugal or by other entities upon agreement with Statistics Portugal;
To promote, in cooperation with the specialised Working Group, the critical and systematic monitoring of the methodological process for the estimation of final results for intra-Community trade;;
To analyse the nomenclatures falling within the competence of the Section, submitting recommendations, and to monitor and update the nomenclatures approved by the Section;
To analyse the «concepts for statistical purposes» of thematic areas within the scope of national and regional accounts and to monitor possible changes in the «concepts for statistical purposes», approved in the specialised Section;
To monitor participation and works carried on in the «GNP Committee» of Eurostat and in other Community and international structures related to these areas.
