Definition LEAVE FOR ASSISTANCE OF CHILD WITH DISABILITY OR CHRONIC DISEASE: Grants the working father or mother a leave of absence from work for a period of up to six months, which may be extended to four years, to provide childcare to a natural, adopted or spouse¿s child living in the household, who is disabled or suffers from a chronic disease, during the first 12 years of life. This leave is considered as actual work done, granting the right to an allowance paid by the social security, or a remuneration in the case of civil servants.
