Concepts
  • FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT (FTE):  Total actual time of the personnel, wholly or partially, included in R&D activities. The number of workers employed in full-time equivalent is calculated by adding the number of full-time individuals with the fractions of a standard work day of part-time workers. However, the term of reference for full-time is always the person/year unit.
  • ENTERPRISE:  Legal entity (natural or legal person) that is an organisational unit producing goods or services, which benefits from a certain degree of autonomy in decision-making, especially for the allocation of its current resources. An enterprise carries out one or more activities at one or more locations.
  • RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT:  All systematically performed creative work aimed at expanding knowledge, including the knowledge of humankind, culture and society, as well as the use of this stock of knowledge in new applications.
  • REFERENCE PERIOD:  Period to which the information refers and which may be a specific day or a time interval (month, fiscal year, calendar year, among others).
