Concepts
  • HOTEL ESTABLISHMENT:  Tourist development (establishment) with the purpose of providing, on a fee basis, lodging and other accessory or support services, with or without the provision of meals. Hotel establishments can be classified as: hotels, boarding houses, lodging houses, inns, motels and apartment-hotels. For statistical purposes, also included here are tourist villages and tourist apartments.
  • NET OCCUPANCY RATE OF BED PLACES:  Relation between the number of overnight stays and the number of availabe bed-places in the reference period, considering double beds as two.
  • REFERENCE PERIOD:  The length of time for which data are collected, e.g. a specific day, month or year.
