Observatory of Cultural Activities

> Powers

To monitor methodological, conceptual and broadly based developments in this statistical area at the international level;
To carry out a sectoral analysis of the different Culture segments, in order to evaluate the degree of adjustment of the present statistical production to the users’ needs;
To present/re-evaluate proposals that may lead to the reformulation of existing statistical operations and/or recourse to administrative data appropriate for statistical purposes;
To examine the proposals to be submitted by Statistics Portugal, intended to update the document relative to “Statistical Concepts” in the “Culture” thematic area, approved by the Statistical Council in due time; da área temática da “Cultura”, oportunamente aprovados pelo CSE;
To promote and ensure cooperation with Portugal’s representatives in international entities.
