The thematic file Municipalities is an essential place to accede to information on a wide range of topics at the municipality level. We provide access to data for all Regional Yearbooks in a set of files; municipal files with economic, social and demographic statistical information (available only in Portuguese) and, within the STASLAB project, files with results on Income statistics at local level (available only in Portuguese) and the Asymmetry indicators at local and interregional level.

The aim of the Asymmetry indicators at local and interregional level (IAssLocal) is to provide new indicators for characterizing the socio-economic diversity of territories, taking advantage of the potential of the information associated with INE's National Data Infrastructure (IND).

This thematic folder provides a set of indicators with information at municipality and regional level, structured according to the new NUTS 2024 version, in the areas of the rental market and housing acquisition, Effort rates with permanent home loans, household income, earnings of employees and demography.

The results presented used quartiles as a reference statistic for reading the socio-economic diversity of the territories.
