Resolution A/RES/70/1 Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted at the United Nations (UN) Summit on Sustainable Development held in New York on 26¿27 September 2015. It is an action plan for people, the planet and prosperity, and sets out a set of 17 goals ¿ the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ¿ and 169 targets to be achieved by all countries by 2030. To monitor progress towards the SDGs, the 47th session of the UN Statistical Commission (UNSC) agreed in 2016 on a set of 241 indicators, to which the 48th UNSC made some adjustments in March 2017. The review of the list of indicators carried out in 2025 resulted in a total of 251 global indicators.
