The trade turnover index recorded, in August, a year-on-year growth of 3.9%, accelerating by 0.4 percentage points (p.p.) compared to the variation in July. Retail trade turnover grew by 4.5%, following an increase of 6.2% in the previous month. Wwholesale trade grew by 1.9%, compared with the 0.5% increase recorded in July.

The employment index recorded a year-on-year change of -0.5%, (0.0% in July). Total remuneration slowed down 0.9 percentage points to a growth of 4.5%.
